Why do we have a white house, not a black house or brown house or a red house?

and has it always been control by white people--maybe this is why thay call it --the white houseWhy do we have a white house, not a black house or brown house or a red house?
A purple house would be nice :)Why do we have a white house, not a black house or brown house or a red house?
Those other colors take a lot more damage from sunlight because they absorb heat. It's racist to accuse something of being racist just because it's a certain color.

Houses of all kinds are generally light colors because that makes them last longer.
Give it 5 yrs, max.
That was probably the only color paint they had back when it was built.
Cancer, AIDS, Global Warming, Social Security, Iraq, Suicide Bombers, Obama, Maddie McCann.....

AND THIS IS WHAT YOU'RE PONDERING!

Forget it...it's called a white house because it's painted white. Doh!
Call it a black house and it might catch on
Actually, it used to be brown but after being set alight during the war of 1812 it was painted white and renamed after restoration.
Its a house and its white.
its called the white house because its white look at it

then when your finished acting like an imbicile find out the colors of the us flag and why we chose them, then you will knwo why its white
I also think it is boring to paint it white, Why not multicolored? Paint the columns and Gables and niches like they probably did in Ancient Greece. Then it would look more like the Taj Mahal, but still look kind of white from a distance.
Because stone is white, and they wanted to make it look grand and formal. Besides, sometimes we go overboard trying to make our society equal. For example, someone wants more hurricane names to sound 'black.' COME ON! I don't think the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration was ever trying to be racist through hurricane names.

The white house thing is no different!
