I live ina very rural area. im scared of them,.its hard to lie down as they are sometimes just there!. is there naything i can do to keep them out the room? i went to bravely catch it and it must have known it ran off.any ideas?BIG black house spiders keep invading my bedroom!!!?
What you may not know, is these spiders will no more harm you

than the daddy longlegs will.

The only likelihood of a bite would be grabbing one, and the

bite would be insignificant. Their only difference is the house spider

wanders around looking for bugs, and might startle you from time to time.

If it is something that can't be dealt with, a pet cat would likely eat

them, or keep a vacuum handy.

I usually just ignore them.

If you keep a gap between walls and furnishings, and keep bedding from dragging the floor, this will reduce the likelihood of finding them

in the bed.BIG black house spiders keep invading my bedroom!!!?
It helps to screen your vents. They usually get into the house through the garage, or low level openings between the concrete foundation and wood framing (you'll see these gaps under the very first strip of siding on the outside walls. Once they get in, they're either in the basement, crawlspace, or between the walls. The only way to get into your living quarters from there is through vents (heating ducts, dryer vent, fireplace), open gaps under baseboards, door frames, kitchen/bathroom sink, and holes around plumbing (under sinks, shower heads, laundry sink). Besides screens, you can buy a can of pressurized foam which you spray into holes. The foam expands to fill up the hole.. pretty cool stuff.
Oh no how horrible not sure where u live but we were chatting about this in work the other day an i was told that they are on the increase this year, try keeping your windows closed they come indoors this time of year. do you have a cat? cats catch them try leaving the cat in your room for an hour before you go to bed.
There might be a spray of some type to repel spiders. If it were my problem i would take everything out of the room and clean it really good. Then go through and seal up every single crack I can find. I effin hate spiders.....
Go online and type in natural pest control and if you try everything-you will get them under control. Sleep on the couch in the meantime.
Maybe you need to get one of these - http://www.iwantoneofthose.com/kitsch-da鈥?/a>
If you have no pets I would try spreading some Borax in places they like to go. It works on ants and I think it might on spiders as well.
I see on GMTV this morning that putting conkers in the corners of your windowsill keeps the spiders away. lol. Dunno how ture that one is though. xx
Try chestnuts in the corners of the room.
Sleep on the couch.
those are poisonous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!
